The Ohio Justice Alliance for Community Corrections is an umbrella organization that pulls together many diverse groups to improve adult and juvenile community sanctions as an alternative to prison.
Our Mission
To work together to develop, improve, expand and promote adult and juvenile community corrections by bringing judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, retrial/probation officers, law enforcement, corrections officials, treatment providers and all other interested parties together to work toward common goals of community intervention for offenders.
Our Goals

Provide a forum to define common goals and interests in adult and juvenile community corrections and serve as a clearinghouse of community corrections information for members.

Educate judges, prosecutors, criminal defense attorneys, other community corrections practitioners, the media, and the general public about the availability, benefits, and role of community corrections in the criminal justice continuum.

Develop and implement practitioner and stakeholder (public education) programs and provide training in support of community interventions for adult and juvenile offenders.

Educate government entities about the need for adequate funding by gathering and presenting reliable information regarding needs, costs, and benefits, and contribute to the development and implementation of public policy in support of community corrections.

Promote continuity in the work of local Community Corrections Planning Boards and enhance community corrections programs through identification and implementation of best practices in community corrections.

Identify and study effective adult and juvenile treatment programs and address issues relevant to the adult and juvenile treatment communities.
